		<description>&#60;img src="http://payload17.cargocollective.com/1/5/191810/2647067/scholarships.jpg" width="670" height="75" width_o="670" height_o="75" src_o="http://payload17.cargocollective.com/1/5/191810/2647067/scholarships_o.jpg" data-mid="14301152"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

Acceptance to the Snowy Range Summer Dance Festival and scholarships to the festival are very competitive. Scholarship funding varies depending on the source of funding and the student application. Some scholarships are restricted to specific cities, regions or state while others are available without restrictions. For example: in most situations, scholarships are awarded for tuition, full or partial. In some cases, scholarships may be available for tuition, room and board depending on the funding source and the number of applicants competing for the scholarship.

Awards are based on the following criteria:
1) quality of performance (from audition or video),
2) financial need
3) students who have attended previous festivals.
In addition, consideration is given to student traveling extended distances.

&#60;img src="http://payload17.cargocollective.com/1/5/191810/2647067/apps.jpg" width="442" height="40" width_o="442" height_o="40" src_o="http://payload17.cargocollective.com/1/5/191810/2647067/apps_o.jpg" data-mid="14351963"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

The following materials must be included to be eligible for consideration:
1. Completed application form (3 pages)
2. Letter from a dance instructor with whom you are currently studying or have previously studied.
3. Letter from an academic teacher with whom you are currently studying or have previously studied (could be a Junior High, High School or college instructor)
4. A character reference from a person of your choice, like an adult who knows you well.
5. A video which demonstrates your technical and performance ability. The video must include at least 2 dances from different dance genres selected from the following:
Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Tap, or Character.

Excerpts from a formal ballet barre or formal modern and/or jazz ‘warm-up’ may be submitted in place of a formal dance. Demonstrations of musical theatre, tap or character should consist of a short dance that best demonstrates your ability. Whatever you choose for your video presentation, be sure it demonstrates your best ability. PLEASE LIMIT VIDEO TO NO MORE THAN 7 MINUTES TOTAL RUNNING TIME. Videos of performances or other formats other than what is requested above will disqualify the applicant.

All materials can be emailed to admin@snowyrangedance.com

Scholarship acceptance letters must be post marked no later than May 30.

Studio Teachers at the Snowy Range Summer Dance Festival

The Snowy Range Summer Dance Festival has a commitment to providing professional development for studio teachers. We feel that their participation in the festival is integral to its success and future.

Educators receive professional training while they become rejuvenated and can integrate timely and pertinent information back into their own teaching strategies. Studio teachers who participate in the festival have the option to attend all classes and activities, they also have the opportunity to perform in the Gala concert alongside the festival students. Studio teachers are also invited to a reception with festival administration and guest artists following the Gala concert.

If you are interested in participating in the Snowy Range Summer Dance Festival as a dance educator see our registration page for housing and meal options!
